It does sound amazing – I haven’t read it yet, but I’m also looking forward to it! The cover shown on my blog is actually the one for the hardcover copy, the paperback that I have to giveaway looks different, but I hope you like it too if you win. You’re welcome. :)

Good thing I’ll be going to university next year in the fall (not this year)! And I’ll be going to a university around here somewhere so I wouldn’t have to worry. But I am indeed interested in how Mia is going to come to a conclusion. It must be a tough decision when it includes someone you love.

  9. June 26, 2010 at 2:04 pm

It really is a tough decision. I went to two different universities (one for my undergrad and one for my master’s degree), and I had to make that choice twice. Even though at the time I was sad that it didn’t end up working out to have a long distance romance, I now think it was for the best (I met someone who was better suited to me in the new city). All this to say that whenever you make a choice, there are obviously consequences, but often, there are good things that come out of it as well.

Thanks for the contest! I think I need to win this one so we’re even! :)

  11. June 26, 2010 at 4:29 pm

You’re welcome! Haha – if not this one, I’m sure that you’ll have many other chances to win some great books on my site. :)

  12. June 26, 2010 at 7:03 pm

Wonderful! Thanks for the great contest. :D I’ve already read If I Stay, but it’s one of my favourite novels to date, and I had to (reluctantly) return my copy to the library after I read it. I’d love to win.

Luckily (or unluckily depending on your stance on this topic) I don’t have a boyfriend, so if I were to go to a place far away, I wouldn’t have to miss him. However, I’d miss my family and friends dearly, but I think I need to get out of this place and you know, walk on different grass.

  13. June 26, 2010 at 10:35 pm

Thanks for your comment Cass! I know what you mean about leaving where you are, even though you’d miss your family and friends. :) Good luck in the contest.

Yea! I need something new to read! OK…really I don’t, but it’s an addiction and I really can’t help it. Plus you gave such good questions to ask if I read it with my students.

  15. June 30, 2010 at 5:26 am

Hahaha…I know the feeling – I enter so many contests that it’s probably a blessing that I don’t win them all. :)

There are definitely more interesting Qs to ask your class if you read it with them, but I didn’t want to give away too much to those who haven’t read it yet. (Who am I kidding – I haven’t even read it yet, just clearing off some shelf space from an extra copy of this book that I won!)

I think I’m the type who would try a long term relationship, no matter how hard it would be. I’m a romantic.

It sounds interesting to me too, but I’ll admit that there is a big twist I didn’t mention in the giveaway. Didn’t want to give too much away before you read it. :)

  36. July 6, 2010 at 9:38 pm

I’ve already entered. I just want to say you’re so sweet to comment all (or at least try to) those who comment you. :) You get a metaphorical gold star just for that.

  37. July 6, 2010 at 9:55 pm

Thanks so much Cass! I really appreciate your comment (and those of everyone else who takes the time to write something on my blog), so it’s hard not to respond to them. :) Also, if my work colleagues were to read this particular comment, they would probably laugh at me and say something like, I’m always looking for gold stars. The truth is that it just seems like the right thing to do to me. Thanks again!

Definitely wouldn’t have stayed in my hometown for a boyfriend – I would have broken it off beforehand because I remember wanting to start fresh in college…

    July 9, 2010 at 11:57 am

I’ve been meaning to read this book for over a year now, and I’m pretty sure the only reason I haven’t is because it’s never handy when I’m in the mood. In other words, I need to own a copy. Thanks for the chance to win it! (and if I don’t, I suppose that will be a sign that I need to buy it)

  50. July 9, 2010 at 12:33 pm

Yes, owning a copy really makes it easier to read when you feel like it. When you borrow it from a friend or the library, there is a requirement to read NOW and that may or may not be a good thing. Good luck, but if you don’t win, please follow the signs pointing to purchase this book now! :)
