Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2010

bbaw button2010 med Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2010If you haven’t heard of Book Blogger Appreciation Week (or BBAW), then there are still a few days left to register either to win an award in a particular category or just for voting privileges. (It concludes on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010, so you’ll have to hurry!)

I’ve been thinking about nominating my blog for awhile, but since YA Book Shelf has only been online for slightly over two months, I hesitated. I have, however, received a lot of great feedback from other YA book bloggers, authors of YA novels and publishing companies and I really have poured a lot of work into my site, so today I finally decided to go ahead and nominate myself for three different categories: Best New Book Blog, Best Young Adult Book Blog and Best Written Book Blog. This blog really is a labor of love, so I hope to meet a lot of new bloggers, who understand exactly what a site like mine takes every week.

After much deliberation, I decided upon the following posts as representative of the content on my site:

1. Stolen by Lucy Christopher

2. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

4. Rhythm And Blues by Jill Murray

5. Armchair BEA: Book Signings And Other Humiliations

Good luck to all of the BBAW participants!

Thanks Kathleen! I must admit that I’m a little nervous right now, but I’m going to put it out of my mind for awhile. There isn’t much point in thinking about it now as BBAW isn’t for two months. :)
