Book Blogger Hop: The August 13-16, 2010 Edition

4732408654 2c2fe8ef6f m Book Blogger Hop: The August 13 16, 2010 EditionHopping around from site to site is what us participants of the weekly Book Blogger Hop just love to do. We get to check out other blogger’s sites and make the time to see what has been going on with their sites since we were there the previous week. Jennifer from Crazy For Books hosts this event, and I have to say that I love participating in it now.

This week’s book blogging relevant question is: How many books do you have on your “to be read shelf?” When I saw the question of the week, I must admit that there was a slight cringe that moved through my body. You see, my TBR pile has gotten a little out of hand. It’s oh, so easy to add book after book to the pile. It’s much less easy to get through them all. icon smile Book Blogger Hop: The August 13 16, 2010 Edition

Currently, I’ve got 96 books to read on Goodreads, but who knows, the list might get larger as my blogging friends reveal the books with which they’ve fallen in love. Sometimes I’ll even even find myself searching the internet with the specific hope of finding more books to add to my TBR list. There are worse addictions though, so I’m not too worried.

On another note, have you ever heard of Bamboo People, about the war in Burma between the Burmese and Karenni peoples, and other novels by Mitali Perkins about attempting to bridge different cultures? Well, if you have heard of them or read them, then today might just be the day to get your questions answered or to leave some relevant comments for the author. You see, not only am I interviewing her today, but also I arranged to have her pop by my site throughout the day of Friday, August 13, 2010 to answer any and all of the questions and read your additional comments as well. Now’s the time to ask!

Hey! Just been nosing around your site (again lol) marvelling (yet again) at your eloquence and graceful way of getting your points across! So many great posts! Would like to add to your TBR if I may – Wasted by Nicola Morgan – a clever book I really enjoyed. Would be interested to hear your thoughts. Keep up the great work! Now, off to nosy some more….

See, my goodreads TR shelf doesn’t just count the books I have at home but also just the books I want to read, period. So I guess I could take that question two ways — how many books do I want to read or how many books do I own currently that I haven’t read yet. :D

Thanks so much Saffie! Your comments about my site and the posts on it mean a lot to me. I added Wasted to my TBR list on Goodreads and I’ll keep my eyes out for it. It’s always great to get suggestions for what I should try and check out from my readers, so thanks for that too! :)

Hehehe…yes, that’s the same thing Goodreads TBR shelf counts as well, Sarah. A good number of them are one that I have at home or signed out from the library at one point or another and didn’t get a chance to read them. Once in awhile I’ll add others to the pile on Goodreads though. Some that I don’t know when I’ll actually read them or buy them even, just to keep them in mind for later. :)

Haha, my TBR list on Goodreads is neverending, but that’s because it contains all the books I want to read including those on my bookshelf. Sigh. But it’s a good thing! I add books on there every single day. I like discovering new books :D

  • http://www.yabookshelf.com Melissa

Thanks for your comment, Justine. Yes, discovering new books is such a pleasure. There are so many wonderful stories to read, and new ones being published all the time. One might not be able to read them all, but the effort is one worth striving for certainly. :)
