Book bloggers are a great bunch of people to get to know better, but even though many of us participate in the weekly Book Blogger Hop, we don’t always find ourselves getting to check out each others sites as much as we would like. We have lives, other commitments, and other posts to write to keep ahead of schedule. That’s why I really think that the question we were asked to ponder this weekend was really worthwhile: let me know what you think about the topic.
This week’s question is: What is your favorite post that you’ve written in the last three months on you site?
When I first saw this post, I immediately thought that I’d be linking to my review of Suzanne Collins‘ Mockingjay. I loved this book and I really felt that it summed up everything that the Hunger Games trilogy had been working toward for the last two years. Even when the plot didn’t end up exactly as I would have liked it to, I knew that Collins had made the right choices.
Still when I thought about it a little more, when I let my mind wander, it went in a totally different direction, and I knew that it was for the best. While I loved writing about Mockingjay, I think that my favorite post from the last three months is actually about Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson. It might be a backlist title, but there is a lot to love about it. For those of you who excelled in school, Kate Malone is a character with whom you might really identify. While it’s really an emotional roller coaster as I allude to in the review, the journey is well-worth taking. Check it out, and take the time to read the rest of Anderson’s YA novels while you’re at it!
