Win 1 Of 2 Paperback Copies of Alchemy’s Daughter!

alchemys daughter by mary a osborne Win 1 Of 2 Paperback Copies of Alchemys Daughter! Last week, I finally posted my review of a book that I’ve been waiting to read for five years. Yes, five years! It’s called Alchemy’s Daughter, and was written by Mary A. Osborne, who also happens to be one of the first authors I reviewed on YABookShelf.com back when I started it in 2010. Back then, I reviewed her début, historical YA novel, Nonna’s Book Of Memories featuring Emilia during the Italian art world during the Renaissance and was very excited by the prospect of the then forthcoming prequel about her grandmother, Santina.

While it took far longer than I expected to see the finished copy of the prequel, I’m so happy that I’ve had the chance to read it finally. I really enjoyed learning about the tumultuous period before and after the Bubonic Plague begins sweeping through Europe through the eyes of a strong, independent woman, and I’m sure that you will, too. Today, as the subject heading of this post suggests, you have a chance to win one of two copies of this award-winning book, Alchemy’s Daughter.

This giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada only, as per the publishers specifications, and it is open from now to August 28, 2015 at 11:59 PM EST.

Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

While I haven’t read anything by this author before, I love historical fiction and young adult novels!

Awesome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when you have a chance to read it and Nonna’s Book of Mysteries.

I haven’t read the previous book yet although I think I remember hearing about it back them. This one looks very good, I”m looking forward to it. Thanks.

Good luck, Carl! They’re both really good, and I think, you can really read them in any order since it isn’t the same characters. Santina is mentioned in Nonna’s Book of Mysteries, but it’s because her granddaughter has inherited the same book that Santina kept all this time.

Award-winning, plus medieval? Like you, Melissa, I didn’t love medieval lit in school, but I really like it in books as long as it’s not too detail-oriented. That sounds bad, but basically, I like medieval stuff that does good world building but doesn’t detract from the plot. This sounds like a good one. Thanks for the giveaway, Melissa!

I had such a bad time with my medieval lit prof, but the class was okay because my friend Geof and I took it together. We passed notes throughout the class, which sounds so high school, but it was necessary. (Not only because our teacher was boredom incarnate.) It was one of our last semesters as undergrads and we wouldn’t be close afterward, so the plan was to hang out as much as possible in 4th year. I hope you enjoy it if you have a chance to read it. Good luck, Tiff!
