Which three have you read, Cat, other than Cecil Castellucci’s First Day On Earth – I know you read that one? I like the challenge, too, in part because I’d already read three of the books before I heard they were nominated. Also, I thought it would be cool to have read all of the nominees, maybe for one of the first times. Definitely makes it harder to choose a favorite – I’ve liked them all so far.

Well, hey. I have read three of the books on that list already! I like the challenge you’ve given yourself and I’d totally jump on that, too, if if knew I’d have time to read books for fun. Right now I’m in such a head space that if I do read for pleasure it has to be something I am craving at that second. I like the sound of this book, though!

Ahh..okay. That’s good to know re: The Wayback Machine and how they store content. (Although logically, it makes sense, I was wondering about it, so thanks!)

Yes, I can definitely backdate posts, and they should have the same URLs as they once did…I think. I’m not 100% sure if they’ll have the same URL because previously, have seen posts that ended up with a 1 or 2 at the end of the URL if erroneously added twice, but again, that was before the posts were deleted. The weird thing is that since I use Disqus for my comments, I can still see the original comments in the WordPress CMS to posts that now don’t exist on my site. Not sure if the comments will align with “restored” posts when just manually re-added, but we shall see.

The Wayback Machine stores copies of websites on their own servers. Google doesn’t index those so there won’t be any duplicate content issues that way.

I’m not sure how WordPress works but could you backdate the posts? So they end up with the same URLs they had before? If so, Google should see them as restored.

In any case, it looks like Google has removed the missing pages from their search results so I don’t think there would be any duplicate content issues if you re-add them.
